The SPENDonLIFE College Scholarship program offers financial assistance for college students who are unable to obtain student loans due to a negative credit history. Awards range from $500 to $5,000 a year of full-time study and are based on financial need and participation in the application process.
Eligibility
The students must meet the following qualifications in order to be eligible:
- The student must have been rejected for a student loan due to negative credit. A rejection letter from a lending institution or a letter from the student's financial aid officer confirming denial of financing may be requested.
- The student must be a legal U.S. Resident.
- The student must be a high school or college student.
- The student must be 16 years of age or older.
- The student must plan to be enrolled or must currently be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate course of study at an accredited two- to four-year college or university.
Employees of SPENDonLIFE and it's associated companies, their family members, and persons living in the same household as employees or their family members are not eligible.
Awards
Up to 10 scholarship awards ranging from $500 to $5,000 will be awarded each year. Awards are non renewable. Awards are for undergraduate and graduate study. Awards are determined on a competitive basis. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as a recipient.
Scholarship awards will be paid directly to the college where the recipient is enrolled.
Application Procedure
Begin by clicking the "Submit Application" link on the right of this page. You will need to download and complete the official application and write an essay detailed in the application document. Email the completed application and essay to scholarship@spendonlife.com. All applications must be recieved before May 15th, 2008.
Carefully review your application before submission. We recommend that you print a hard copy of your application to retain for your records. Printed copies should not be sent to SPENDonLIFE. Once the application is submitted, no further revisions may be made.
You must provide a valid active email address with your application. Notification throughout the application process will be by email. Be sure to add scholarship@spendonlife.com to your email contacts or address book.
Applicants are responsible for gathering and submitting all information necessary to the application process. SPENDonLIFE will email acknowledgment of receipt of all submitted applications. Applications found to be incomplete as of the application deadline will not be processed. All information submitted is reviewed only by SPENDonLIFE and will be treated confidentially.
Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on a competitive basis with consideration of the applicant’s essay, financial need, and participation in the application process. Financial data is reviewed to determine the amount of each award, ranging from $500 to $5,000.
Selection of recipients is made by SPENDonLIFE staff. All applicants agree to accept the decision of SPENDonLIFE as final. Applicants will be notified no later than May 31, 2008. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Obligations
Recipients have no obligation to SPENDonLIFE. They are, however, required to supply SPENDonLIFE with official transcripts and proof of eligibility when requested. Recipients must notify SPENDonLIFE of any change of address, school enrollment or other relevant information.
Revisions
SPENDonLIFE and it's parent company One Technologies reserve the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time, including termination of the program.
